Abhirami

Abhirami (born July 26, 1983), born Divya Gopikumar, is an Indian actress and television host who works predominantly in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada cinema. She made her acting debut in the Malayalam film *Pathram* (1999), followed by *Njangal Santhushtaranu* (1999) and *Millennium Stars* (2000). She entered Tamil cinema with *Vaanavil* (2000), for which she won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award Special Prize for Best Actress. During the early 2000s, Abhirami played leading roles across South Indian industries, appearing in *Meghasandesam* (2001), *Middle Class Madhavan* (2001), *Samuthiram* (2001), the comedy *Charlie Chaplin* (2002), and her Kannada debut *Laali Haadu* (2003). For her performance in the period drama *Virumaandi* (2004), she won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Tamil. She subsequently appeared in the Telugu release *Cheppave Chirugali* (2004) before taking an extended hiatus from acting. Abhirami returned to cinema with the medical thriller *Apothecary* (2014) and *36 Vayadhinile* (2015). In streaming, she appeared in *Oru Kodai Murder Mystery* (2023) and *Goli Soda Rising* (2024). Her subsequent releases included the action drama *Garudan* (2023), *Maharaja* (2024), *Saripodhaa Sanivaaram* (2024), *Vettaiyan* (2024), *Thug Life* (2025), *Bomb* (2025), *Blast* (2026), and *Karmakhya* (2026).
